Biography

PhD (Specialist in Genetic Toxicology; Univ. Autónoma de Barcelona) and Bachelor of Pharmacy (Univ. Central de las Villas, Cuba). Current position: Senior Toxicologist & Nonclinical Safety Adviser, at Ferrer Advanced Biotherapeutics. Ferrer Internacional. Previous positions: Pharmacovigilance Officer/Senior Nonclinical Toxicologist (Ferrer); Medical Adviser. Dermatology Area (Ferrer); Senior Toxicologist. Head of In vivo Toxicology Group (Ferrer); Senior Nonclinical Toxicology Study Director (RCC-CIDA s.a.l.). Senior Toxicologist/Nonclinical Safety with more than 15 years of experience working in the design and management of several fields of nonclinical toxicology and safety issues to support the efficacy/safety in the R&D in New Development Projects with the aim to obtain new medicinal products. Co-author of over 12 peer-review of scientific publications. Invited Speaker at 20 Scientific Events in the last 10 years at international congress. Expert of European Commission: Sixth and Seven Framework Programme. Area Preclinical Toxicology and Mutagenesis. Expert Member Panel in Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI)-Scientific Panel to evaluate the proposals for the IMI2 9th Call: topic on ‘Next generation of electronic translational safety–NexGETS. Member of Editorial Board of scientific journals and several Organizing Committee of Scientific Congress. Member of Jury several doctoral theses (Univ. Autónoma de Barcelona. Current interests: Open innovation & Collaborative Bio-Research. Advanced Therapies. Neuropharmacology. Ophthalmology. Molecular diagnostics and other Therapeutic areas.
