General practitioners require medical emergency knowledge, skills, medications, and equipment. Clinics require treatment rooms and doctor's packs to tackle onsite and offsite emergencies, respectively. In their local hospitals, rural medical generalists may provide more advanced emergency management. GPs may collaborate with paramedics in emergency situations, therefore familiarity with their expertise and the drugs they carry is beneficial.
