factors determine the pharmacodynamics studies. Pharmacodynamics is affected by
receptor binding and sensitivity, post receptor effects, and chemical
interactions. Pharmacodynamics as well as pharmacokinetics explain the effect
of drugs to the host body, which is the relationship between the dose and the
consequential response. The pharmacologic response depends on the drug binding
to its target. The concentration of the drug at the receptor site influences
the drug’s effect. Pharmacodynamics studies can be affected by physiologic
changes due to genetic mutations, diseases, aging, or impact of other drugs.
These changes occur because of the ability of the disorders to change receptor
binding, alter the level of binding proteins, or decrease receptor sensitivity.
This session will focus on all these factors affecting pharmacodynamics
